Network IP Statistics

IP Statistics are a part of Mixed Signals’ transport monitoring solution. Monitoring the IP layer of the video network ensures there are no IP issues impacting the delivery of services and programming. In addition, monitoring the IP network assists with root cause analysis and problem isolation. The three primary uses are:

1) Monitor the performance of the UDP/IP transport network over time

The Sentry product line can be configured to send out an email and SNMP trap alerts when there is packet delay and network jitter which could potentially impact audio and video quality.

2) IP Network Analysis

Perform root cause analysis on the IP network by using built-in analysis tools and historical reporting to correlate IP anomalies (packet delay and network jitter) with occurrences of other problems such as discontinuities, audio silence, video freeze alerts, etc.

3) Historical Reports

IP Statistics provides a historical graphical report on the entire IP video network that includes the types of issues and information on what the subscriber impact was for any network issue.

Highlights

  • Historical reporting and graphing
  • IP video network impairment analysis
  • Coorelate IP network issues with occurrences of other MPEG or Video and Audio QoE issues for faster problem resolution
